Neon Light Shader

In versions previous to 6.0/6.5 you could apply a texture over the Neon Light shader. Through transparency settings and Alpha channels you could get some very useful effects.
This no longer seems to be the case.
Is this a permanent change or a bug?

Hi, It’s a change. You can make the following workaround: place a plan with invisible shader in front of the neon light and map the textures on it.
